Dr. Andrea Joplin brings 25 years of clinical experience and a wealth of expertise to our clinic. Dr. Joplin's journey with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) has deeply influenced her career, driving her passion for ensuring patients with EDS and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) receive timely diagnoses and optimal care.
Dr. Joplin's personal experience with hEDS provides her with a unique perspective and deep-seated dedication to serving people affected by Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. As both a patient and physician, Dr. Joplin is intimately familiar with the clinical presentations of EDS as well as how it might impact someone's day-to-day life. She has completed numerous specialty courses through the Ehlers-Danlos Society's EDS ECHO programs and regularly reviews the most up-to-date EDS research.
Dr. Joplin earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, where she also completed a residency in ophthalmology. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Joplin serves on the Medical Board of the Connective Tissue Coalition, an organization dedicated to promoting connective tissue disease research, advocacy, and education among healthcare providers.
Dr. Joplin’s firsthand experience with hEDS and her extensive clinical background make her a valuable asset to the Ehlers-Danlos community, and we are very proud to have her on our team.
